Lake Louise, Day 2

We were staying in Canmore so I knew that we needed to be up super early to make it to Lake Louise. It is about an hour drive from Canmore, but the drive it amazing as the Bow River runs along side the highway so the views are amazing. There are also quite a few wildlife bridges that go over the highway and we loved seeing them. We left the condo at 7:30am thinking it would give us plenty of time to get decent parking at Lake Louise. When we got there at 8:30am, the parking lots were filled. There is an auxiliary lot that you can park at and shuttle to Lake Louise. My suggestion would be to arrive at 6:30am if you want a good spot in the close lots. We had decided that we were going to canoe on Lake Louise. First, pictures by the lake:

We then hopped in line to rent a canoe which is to the left. If you stay at the Fairmont Lake Louise hotel, you get to bypass the line. The line was long but we were willing to wait if we needed to. We lucked out and were able to take out a canoe.

This hotel is so beautiful!!!
Waiting in line for canoes
Hours and pricing for canoes. Do the entire hour!!! It was $115CAD for a half hour and $125CAD for one hour.

We rented two canoes for an hour. We wanted to try and reach the end of the lake and we knew it would take a while. It was $115GST for a half hour and $125GST for an hour. When we got into the canoe, I set my time for 30 minutes because I figured it it took me 30 minutes to row to that point from the dock, it would take me 30 minutes to row back. Here are some photos from the canoe trip:

After we did a canoe ride on the lake, we walked over to the hotel to grab some hot chocolate and coffee. We had tickets to go on the Lake Louise gondola so we were excited to do that and eat lunch at the top. Make sure you read all about our Lake Louise gondola ride and lunch. We saw some many grizzlies and it was amazing!
